Elasticsearch 8 update
This release will automatically update cluster nodes with Elasticsearch version 8.9.1 for improved performance, resilience, and security. No manual user intervention or downtime is required. The update is applied in rolling mode as part of regular version updates.
We're dropping support for IE 11
Starting with RUM JavaScript version 1.293, we will stop supporting Internet Explorer 11. For more information, see RUM JavaScript for Internet Explorer 11 and the related announcement in the Dynatrace Community .

New features and enhancements
Process connection error events
Platform | Problems
Process connection error events will now merge into the same problem when occurring on the same host.
Content-Type multipart/form-data is not supported for custom Extensions 2.0 upload
Infrastructure Observability | Extensions
The only acceptable Content-Type for a custom Extensions 2.0 upload via REST API is application/octet-stream now.
Unused ActiveGate module attribute was removed
Infrastructure Observability | ActiveGate
Unused ActiveGate module attribute was removed from ActiveGate API response.
Topology enrichment for Kubernetes clusters and services
Infrastructure Observability | Kubernetes
Topology enrichment for Kubernetes clusters and services works correctly with defined semantic dictionary attributes:
- For cluster: (works the same as it has already worked for )
- For service: (cluster and namespace have to be provided)
Test monitoring features check for DynaKube read permission
Infrastructure Observability | Kubernetes
A check for DynaKube read permission was added for the Kubernetes cluster monitoring settings Test monitoring features button. This checks the following (optional) permission in the cluster role:
- verbs:
- list
- watch
- get
apiGroups:
- dynatrace.com
resources:
- dynakubes
"Monitoring mode" property renamed "Dynakube modes" in UI
Infrastructure Observability | Kubernetes
The Monitoring mode property on the Cluster details page was renamed to Dynakube modes in the web UI.
Wildcards in custom log sources
Infrastructure Observability | Logs
You can expand wildcards in custom log sources.
If you are writing the settings via API, you need to adjust them to the new schema, or specify the previous schema version, .
Generic log ingestion directly to cluster nodes
Infrastructure Observability | Log Monitoring
Generic log ingestion is now possible without installing Environment ActiveGate.
Network zones opt-in default
Infrastructure Observability
Network zones are enabled by default for new tenants created in Cluster version 1.291+.

Resolved issues
General Availability (Build 1.292.6)
The 1.292 GA release contains 13 resolved issues.
Access Control
- Fixed an issue for Managed clusters, where the policy update API call returned 403 but applied part of the changes. The described situation occurred only if the changed policy was bound to a deleted environment. (PS-22769)
Cluster
- When conducting root cause analysis for a slowdown, events that represent a generic kind of performance change (for example, `PERFORMANCE_EVENT`) are now also considered. This can lead to more findings in slowdown problems and merging slowdown problems with problems that contain performance events. (DI-14269)
- Changed root cause analysis to allow looking slightly into the future of the start of an event to account for data fuzziness. This should improve, for example, high memory on host events, to lead to high memory on process metric changepoints being found, because it allows for more context when looking for the changepoint. (DI-14261)
- Fixed the way a log query is generated on entity pages. Correct logs are displayed for services pages after applying multiple filters on the same attribute. (LOG-6950)
- Added a new metric dimension combination of a single `Region` dimension to the `SMSMonthToDateSpentUSD` metric to support cases where CloudWatch does not add any dimensions to the metric. (PCLOUDS-4150)
- Fixed an issue where JS agent 1.287 is not visible in the UI although was successfully downloaded. (PS-22736)
- Fixed a permission issue on the Kubernetes Node anomaly detection settings page. When a user without permission to access the Kubernetes connection settings navigated to the Kubernetes Node anomaly detection settings for this cluster, a 403 - Forbidden error page was erroneously shown. (K8S-9697)
- Resolved an issue causing cross-environment dashboards to not work after updating to Dynatrace Managed 1.288. (PAPA-17822)
- Resolved issue causing the latest JavaScript code module to not appear on the Managed cluster. (RUM-19305)
- On the "Logs and events" page, updated the description of capabilities. (LOG-6940)
- Updated to Openssl 1.1.1w for Managed installers. (CLD-10758)
- Drilldowns in service backtrace is now working for Services of long names. (TI-12266)
- Log Events ingest limit will be now correctly applied across cluster even under high load. (LOG-6378)
